My boyfriend and I are getting KICKED OUT of our house and the eviction / set out date is the 31st. Thank you so much to EVERYONE who has been helped me. But I need this shared as much as you can. This is from my donation page:
Working up to my birthday and Christmas week, my boyfriend and I have been working hard to catch up on bills, and to get our savings worked out. We were almost there, everything was going to be caught up on, and we were going to be in a stable place financially. The only thing was, we haven’t had heat for part of October, all of November and December so far.
So we decided to tell our landlord that we’d like to wait to pay rent this month until the heat is fixed. Never did we say we wouldn’t pay rent, just that we would like the heat fixed before we pay. It’s December, it’s frigid, and space heaters only do so much. Taking a shower has been horrid because of how cold it is. Our landlord’s response to this is an eviction notice.
My stomach churns and aches over this because with having to leave, all my plans have fallen through. I won’t be able to celebrate my birthday, and it seems like a slim chance I’ll even be able to see my family. The month of December, a month that is supposed to be filled with cheer is instead bringing pain and fear. With this being the case, I desperately need a Christmas miracle.
I set it at this goal so we can afford to get everything out, and so we can cover the first two months on rent and a security deposit. My boyfriend, roommate, and I have been working as much as we can to save up and get out but the help is necessary as well.
I know it’s a rough time for many around the holidays, with bills, gifts, and weather causing high heating bills, but if you can help or share my story, it would be amazing. I can’t believe our landlord and well, technically she’s like my mother in law, would kick us out during the holiday season… but we will do our best and try our best. Please donate if you can.
